Sightline

Privacy policy

Effective October 2, 2026

The developer of Sightline collects nothing. What the app handles stays between your device, Ubiquiti’s service for your account, and your own UniFi consoles.

What the developer collects

Nothing. Sightline has no accounts of its own, no analytics, no crash-reporting service, no advertising, no tracking and no third-party SDKs. The developer never receives your API key, your sign-ins, your camera lists or any video.

What stays on your device

Removing a site or the API key in the app deletes the matching items. Clips you export are saved where you choose.

What is sent, and to whom

ToWhat
Ubiquiti (api.ui.com)Your API key with each request. Through Ubiquiti’s cloud connector: camera lists, events, snapshots, clip downloads, camera settings and movements you make, and the changes Sightline makes to a site’s UniFi Network settings to set up its VPN. That includes the VPN’s keys and your device’s name, which labels its VPN client.
Your own consoles and gatewaysLive and recorded video, over the app’s WireGuard connection. If you sign in to a console directly: your username, password and two-factor code, sent to that console only.
Anyone elseNothing.

Ubiquiti’s own privacy policy applies to its service. Your consoles are run by you, or by whoever operates them.

What Sightline changes at a site

With your agreement, shown before a site is added, Sightline adds a WireGuard VPN server named “Sightline” and a client for your device to the site’s UniFi gateway. To do this it reads the gateway’s list of networks. Removing the site in the app removes what it added. Deleting the app or revoking the API key does not; in that case delete the “Sightline” VPN in UniFi Network.

Children

Sightline doesn’t knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.
